Cybersecurity assessments are important tasks that help companies stay prepared in case of a cyberattack. However, many manufacturers aren’t prioritizing cybersecurity assessments, including 60% of small- and medium-sized manufacturers that haven’t conducted one for the last 12 months.
As manufacturing facilities are now top targets for cyberattacks, these assessments should be top-of-mind for manufacturing company leadership and executives. If the person at the top of the company doesn’t buy-in to the importance of cybersecurity, it will be impossible to implement assessments.
Once buy-in is achieved, manufacturing companies have a few decisions to make, including whether they should do the assessment in-house or outsource it, which employees should manage the task, and how cybersecurity compliance efforts should be tracked and measured.
